// Controller repair

Drift fixed. Sticks rebuilt.

Thumbstick drift is the #1 controller failure. The potentiometer inside the joystick module wears out and the console thinks you're pushing when you're not. We replace the module with a new assembly and recalibrate. Also: bumper clicks, triggers not springing back, battery contact issues, shell replacement.

Why does my Xbox disc drive keep clicking or ejecting?
This is one of the most common Xbox Series X and Xbox One failures we see. It's usually caused by a failed optical pickup assembly, worn drive belts, or a disc sensor that's drifted out of alignment. We can repair most of these at the drive level by replacing specific components. If the laser diode itself has fully died, a full drive swap is the route and we'll tell you during the free diagnosis.
Can you fix Xbox controller drift?
Yes. Controller drift is caused by wear in the potentiometer inside the thumbstick module. Dust, moisture, or just thousands of hours of gameplay wear down the contact. We replace the thumbstick modules with new assemblies and recalibrate. Covered by a 90-day warranty same as our console repairs. $69 per controller, usually same-day or next-day turnaround.
Do you repair Red Ring of Death Xbox 360s?
Yes, sometimes. Red Ring of Death is a solder joint failure under the GPU caused by thermal cycling — Microsoft's manufacturing process on the original 360 didn't hold up. We can often restore function with a reflow and thermal service, but it's worth being honest: the repair isn't always permanent, and given what used Xbox 360s cost, it may not make financial sense. We do a free diagnosis and give you the straight answer.
Why is my Xbox Series X so loud?
Dust buildup in the heatsink and fan is almost always the cause. The Series X has an excellent vapor chamber cooler when it's clean, but it's a vertical console that pulls dust up through the base vents, and that dust settles into the heatsink fins over a couple of years. A full tear-down, heatsink clean, fan service, and thermal paste refresh usually brings it back to factory-quiet operation. $89 flat.
What's your warranty on Xbox repairs?
Every Xbox repair is covered by a 90-day warranty on parts and labor. If the same issue comes back within that window, we fix it at no charge. The warranty covers what we repaired; it doesn't cover new damage or unrelated issues that appear later.
Will repairing my Xbox erase my games or save data?
No. Our repairs are hardware-only and don't touch the internal drive. Your installed games, saves, screenshots, and Xbox Live account data are preserved. As a general best practice, enable Xbox cloud saves through Xbox Live for your important games as a safety net.
Can I ship my Xbox in for repair?
Yes. Ship to 261 S 4th Street, Whitewater, WI 53190. Ship the console only — don't include cables, controllers, or games unless they're part of the issue. Pack it well and insure for replacement value. Include a note with your name, phone number, email, and a short description of the symptom. We confirm receipt and send a free written diagnosis within 2 business days of arrival.
Do you repair Xbox One X, One S, and original Xbox One?
Yes. We repair every Xbox One variant. Parts availability is best on Series X, Series S, One X, and One S. Original Xbox One parts are more limited and we'll confirm what's available during the free diagnostic before any work starts.
